Since 2014 Bad Münstereifel has a new attraction - the City Outlet Bad Münstereifel. It is the first inner-city outlet in North Rhine-Westphalia, the most populous and economically strong federal state in Germany.
Instead of "in the middle of nowhere", a new and sustainable concept was implemented in the historic city centre preserving the listed buildings of the medieval romantic city. Thus, trade and the unique atmosphere of a more than thousand-year-old city are united here.
Therefore, what is artificially recreated in other outlet centres is authentic in the medieval romantic city of Bad Münstereifel: half-timbered houses, a completely preserved fortress wall, a castle and a picturesque little river with bridges.
After the flood disaster in July 2021, which led to the complete destruction of the historic old town and the outlet, everything was rebuilt within a year and City Outlet Bad Münstereifel is once again enjoying a 100% leasing rate.
City Outlet Bad Münstereifel - stronger and more beautiful than ever before - is expected to be expanded by around 1,000 square metres of retail space by 2024 as part of a new building project.
